The scoop on 2014!! AND my biggest giveaway ever!! ♥

My dear awesome, wonderful, talented, creative friends!

It's that time of the year again, a time for recaps and reflections....

a time to ponder the wonders of 2014 (and I hope you have had many)
and time for me to celebrate the gratitude I feel so deeply by holding a very special GIVEAWAY!
The biggest yet in fact!

So after you read all the way through, please leave me a comment as we see out the old year and prepare to bring in the new. I would LOVE to hear what you are dreaming into being in 2015!
P.S Please make sure you also leave your email contact so we can let you know if you've won!
*please feel free to tweet, pin, reblog, post anywhere and let me know how many shares cos thats how many chances you'll have to win! <3 p="">

TEN lucky winners will win either the original painting shown above OR one of three free spots in my upcoming Paint Mojo ecourse which opens for Earlybird registration on Jan 1st OR one of six hand painted postcards  to be sent from a mystery European destination during my travels next year!
*winners announced Dec 31st*

Did I mention I LOVE giving stuff away!! :)

I've been thinking about the whole WORD of the year thing and have decided that it doesn't really work for me.
I've never been that good at focusing on one thing for a long period of time so this year I want to move forward with several intentions rather than a word.

So here goes....

As I move into the New Year I intend

to work on balancing my body and mind, giving care and time to my physical needs and balancing out the disproportionate amount of time I spend "in my head".

to journey forth with a brave and open mind and to embrace more adventures even if they are momentarily scary.

to practice seeing myself as a strong and vibrant energetic force. I see this reflected back at me all the time from you beautiful people but mostly I have trouble believing it for myself.

I would love for you to share your intentions with me also.

I must confess.....
I don't quite know where to start with this years recap..
its been big, different, amazing, confronting, enlightening, funny, scary, wonderful and BUSY!

but a HUGE lesson I have learned in the past twelve months is that I don't have to do it ALL!!

This gorgeous woman saved my sanity by showing up two or three days a week, always bringing a sunshiny smile with her and taking over a whole bunch of stuff that was tying me to the computer. Thank you Kyla for being a multitasking queen and a wonderful friend! xo

Its also been a year of very big FIRSTS!

My FIRST book which sold out of its FIRST print run super quickly, and sat in the number one bestseller position in painting and mixed media for weeks!

Many of you sent me awesome pics as you received your books around the world and it made me feel sooooo good, like a little part of me was right there with you as you opened yourself up to more creative mojo in your lives.

It was also the year for my very FIRST Ecourse and oh man what a learning curve that was! Thank you to Kyla once again, Louise Gale, Luke Sheehan and my sweet Sienna for help with registrations, websites, filming and editing. I could NOT have done it all on my own!

The ecourse content unfolded organically and beautifully and the community of more than 400 eager students who joined the first session have made me feel like a proud mama as I have watched them blossom and shine. I adore in person teaching at my workshops and wondered how I could navigate a large ecourse group with the same kinds of hands on advice and care I give in "real" life but the feedback I have received makes me feel like I gave it my all and I cant wait for the second session to begin Feb 14th. Earlybird registration opens here in just nine days.

Would love for you to join me and I promise to ignite your mojo and spark your inspiration bigtime!

” You have such fresh ideas, content, and a great organized, yet spontaneous, teaching style. Truly an incredible class by which all others will be compared.” ~Sheila

(a little collage below of just a few of the hundreds, maybe thousands of amazing student images that came forth from Paint Mojo the ecourse~session one!)

"I wanted to find out if I could paint from my heart/my head, rather than paint what I physically see around me. This class is so chock full of different ideas that actually help to pull creativity out of your bones! Tracy is a loving, generous, kind and wise soul. She teaches and lives out of her heart, and is willing to share whatever she can to help a fellow 'creative' play with no judgement of ability or talent" D Weiland

In 2014 I also.....  did my fair share of waiting in airport gates

on my way to Paint Mojo workshops around Australia, meeting old friends and new
and staying a little closer to home this year while our baby girl Sienna wrapped up her senior year (with flying colors).

The one place I did visit outside of Australia marked another first with my FIRST longer all inclusive retreat in beautiful Bali! Oh my, I fell hard for this country...so languid, soulful, picturesque and welcoming.

How blessed I was to spend almost a month here, facilitating two 8 day retreats and enjoying every minute with two small intimate groups of sweet and talented women in the perfect setting at Sanur Beach Villas. Grateful also for the company of my dear friend Louise Gale who, as a guest teacher, shared her talent and knowledge with the students for our altered book project. I have already grabbed the dates at this fabulous venue for Sacred Marks Bali 2016 so make sure you let me know if you want me to keep you in the loop!

2014 also had its moments where our feet didn't feel so firmly planted on the ground!

I spent four days in hospital in early Feb after months of unsettling symptoms and came home with a diagnosis of Ulcerative colitis. I have since taken major corrective steps with my diet and although I am not symptom free yet I feel like I am on track.
Santana, around the same time, after months of nausea attacks and trialing every food under the sun to see what was causing it, finally had a definitive blood test result confirming severe coeliac. Needless to say her diet has changed radically as well.
The news didn't stop her and her gorgeous guy Jacob from heading off on a two months adventure shortly after and enjoying it all with gusto and romance

Not to be outdone mi amor went and almost lost a finger while kite surfing and had to undergo extensive microsurgery to try to save it. Several months and surgeries later it is almost as good as new and he is back out in the water....

and I get to listen to him strum his guitar each night as I cook dinner :)

All in all I am blessed.....learning to take more time to chillax and  smell the roses with reminders from Bella and Luna....

Learning to let go of the thoughts, habits, actions that no longer serve me and focus on what makes me feel joy....

learning to move forward towards my year of turning fifty with a greater feeling of self love and acceptance...
Even my work feels like it is collaborating with me to tune me into a quieter more introspective place of creating, and it feels GOOD....

I am grateful for so much, deepening friendships

magic forays into new lands and wise words from ancient poets to guide me...

an ever widening lens of wonder with which to view an ever expanding and enchanting world...

and a growing sense of knowing that indeed there is something bigger than we know going on here, that we should all remain open and that the journey ahead can be a magical one.

Much love to you all, many blessings for the holidays, whichever, wherever you celebrate, may you celebrate with love and compassion and move into the New Year aligned with all good things to come your way.

Good luck in my giveaway!
Please don't forget to leave a comment!
lots of love

Hi Tracy...it was lovely to read your year in review...I feel like I was a part of your year as I did my first Paint Mojo with you in Toowoomba this year. I didn't think I could let myself go but with your gentle instruction I ended up with a painting that I now love, I also bought your demo which now has pride of place in my family room. I have continued to use your instruction from your ebook that I purchased and have painted my two Sons a painting for Christmas. I also look forward to joining you and continuing my journey with the upcoming e-course. All the very best for the Season and best wishes for 2015.... It looks like it's going to be a big one for you. Warmest wishes Roma xo

Wow - what a year you've had - its mazing to see it in retrospect. I wish I'd done your first e-course despite the use of acrylics (which sometimes give me headaches) - finding ways to work along would have just required a bit of extra creativity from me. I've tweeted and FB'd your link and hope you get even more readers. And added your site into my list of blogs on my blog which I'm just attempting to re-start... (caroslines.blogspot.com)- I'll try and write a blog post about you too but they always take me ages!

Wow! That was an adventurous year. Wishing you and yours the best in the new year.

Much like you I am all over the place and can not commit to one word to bring forth the new year. I have committed to three things to improve on.

1. Gratitude/Thankfulness/Consciously grateful

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures. ~Thornton Wilder

2. Overcome: To overcome inhibitions, worries and fears to release those things that weigh me down.

3. Healthier lifestyle, cleaning eating, exercise and habits.

I too loved reading your year in review and I can't believe how " time really does fly, when you're having fun". You are a very special soul and it oozes out of your paintings and your kind words. I too had some highs and lows to my year, but one of my highs was something I did for Me....and that was to " Paint Mojo". No one could have imagined how much you were willing to share, and no one was disappointed. I feel we were given so much more for our money a safe environment to work and share if we desired to. You have been a tremendous teacher and I know in my heart I will paint with you and some " MoJo friends" in the future. Safe travels and blessings for your upcoming adventures, someone's life is about to become " so colourful " xx

Beautiful. I too want to let go of thoughts, habits and actions that do not serve me in a positive way. I just told a friend this year I am not lowering my expectations but decreasing my frustration by not being so intense on things I can't change. Hugging more often and slowing down my mind. I have a whole journal page on my artful journey. I was going to bring it to and end and stop being delusional, but Joss - Soulbrush, made me rethink that. She began painting at 58. I am about to turn 58. I shall reapproach this journey. MERRY CHRISTMAS.

What a beautiful post!

I'm entering 2015 with a Mermaid Heart. I've tried a word of the year for many years & it just doesn't stick. To me, a Mermaid Heart is an adventurous spirit, curious, inventive, creative, loving, engaging & fun! I've been working towards this since the term entered my head...and my heart.

As for 2014, I traveled to Thailand, took a Jane Davenport class in May in North Carolina, followed Jane to Paris in July & relaxed on the beach in Mexico. My life does not normally contain so much travel, but it is what cultivated the Mermaid Heart. I have picked up art supplies for the first time in 4 years. I've taken some online classes that fed my soul. We've had trials & tribulations, as well....the death of a beloved nephew who couldn't over come his depression, my husbands emergency appendectomy, our daughters surgery just a week ago. But a Mermaid Heart is strong & caring.

Tracy, I love your work! I have Paint Mojo (the book) and will be taking your class in Houston in March. The last painting in progress you posted brought me to tears, it was so beautiful!

Merry Christmas & may 2015 be filled with delight!

Hello Tracy!! What a whirlwind of a year you've had. Congrats on dreams coming true!! :)
It's interesting how, for some, "one little word"(or in my case this year, 3 words creating a phrase) works & for others it doesn't. I really don't find myself focusing on it in any meditative way, but it certainly pops up everywhere. I really find it to be more of a fluid experience, an intent, I guess, that weaves throughout my year, unfolding in unexpected ways. It's something I can't help but be aware of as it infuses my days & experiences. Though, I usually do start to feel it shift into something else...a completely new energy...around Oct or Nov & becoming more intense in Dec.
This year, the energy has certainly shifted, but it's w/o a descriptive word...just yet, anyway. It's feeling much more open ended, yet layered...difficult to put into words here, as it is still unfolding.
I look forward to the New Year & whatever it has in store for me.
May life continue to bless you in many beautiful & unexpected ways!! ~Heather♥~

P.S. Thank you ever so much for an incredibly generous opportunity!!! :)

Just reading your post I feel such a sense of peace and serenity so first of all thank you for that. Going into 2015 my goals are to continue exploring my creative side, working to incorporate my metal work techniques with painting (which really needs improvement) and creating wall art that will take the visions I see in my head and make them a physical reality.

Thank you for your continued inspiration. Wishing you and everyone reading this a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2015!

I am dreaming into more joy, less stress, more love and less judgement, more yes! and less fear and "sprinkling kindness like confetti" (Wish I had thought of that phrase myself, but alas...) wherever I go. what a great post .. makes me think of my own year and how I have grown as an artist. The biggest step is to be true to me and my style. I belong to our local art club and what I create is so different from what everyone else and it has been a step for me to stay the course and create from my heart. Many people describe my style as colorful and whimsical. I have started to paint more intuitively and let it flow from my heart. I believe that your course will assist in my journey. It's good to have at least a small plan what to do next. This year was for me awesome, not on all fields, but on some it was and it was unbelievable good.
For my next year I plan to do even more crazy good stuff and more art for me, just because I did finally discover how good it is possible to feel when I paint. I will admit, it was an escape from reality, but Picasso did say, everything that you could imagine is real. So its good thing to have a place when you could feel free, and I do feel free when I pant, so more of that please. It's a good addiction and I love it.

Thanks so much for sharing all your thoughts, successes and trials.

My OLW last year was Gypsy and it served me well. I came out of the year unencumbered, back in a state that I love (OR), with a half-the-size house, half as many possessions and a lot more happiness.

For next year I'm intending to work on a series. Exploring an original character in as many different media as possible - paint, sculpture, collage, wire, fabric etc.

I think it will be a good way to grow as an artist.

Merry Christmas!

Warmly,
Nicole

What a wonderful year you have had, Tracy. I am dreaming into being some huge things. I feel like I'm sitting on top of a beautiful hot air balloon filled to overflowing with creativity. After taking your ecourse, I saw my digital art in a whole new light. But, there was still one problem. The app I use is very difficult to get to do what I want it to do. Exactly after your class, I found a class on the brush engine in Painter. It is very complex because it is capable of doing so much. I discovered a digital teacher who knows how to handle Painter. He has taught me so much. Finally, I am controlling Painter, instead of the other way around. I know that the two classes, mixed together with my new passion for photography are all going to mix up and become one big artistic, creative BANG in 2015. I am so excited. Thank you for sharing so many, many creative ideas and prompts in your ecourse. I am in awe of what is coming next! I look forward to following you in your world journey next year. I love seeing people living their dreams.

Happy Holidays, my dear Tracy! Wishing you & your family a wonderful New Year too! What a year you've had. I am so grateful I found you, your book & enrolled in your 1st E-course. You are such a gift to this world...a beautiful, talented & inspirational soul. And so many incredible participants. Hoping we can keep the group together as we all grow as artists & human beings. Although I am still going through the e-course, I have learned so much...not only about my art & interesting techniques, etc. but so much about myself, my fears & self-limiting & false beliefs, my dreams & strengthening my courage & inner voice to allow myself to fully invest in myself & explore & share my creative gifts with the world. I now see it as my obligation. This world needs more creative energy, love, peace & compassion. Thank you for showing me the foolishness in believing in limitation & fear & the organic & true nature of each & every one of us on Earth....creative, loving souls in a world of magic, curiosity, wonder & abundance. For 2015, my intention is to continue developing myself as an artist with daily practice, choosing curiosity, wonder & playfulness over fear & perfectionism...remembering that my job is not to critique & judge my work, only to make it & a lot of it. Other intentions: gratitude, compassion, kindness, abundance, deepening friendships, love, & health for myself and all others. Thank you for sharing yourself so fully & authentically. I would be honored to be the lucky recipient of any of your gorgeous pieces or a spot in one of your courses. Namaste y besos! flakajulia@yahoo.com

Hi Tracy, thank you for the opportunity to win a piece of your beautiful art or a place in your online workshop.
I picked up paintbrushes for the first time this year after an inspiring trip to the top end at Easter. Since then my life has taken a whole new turn! I'm leaving behind negative people and changing my activities so i have more time for creating. I'm trying to forget the food issues that have been my main focus for the last 6 years or so and instead concentrate on the enjoyable things in my life.
I love creating! I love to sit back in awe at what I've created on what was once a blank page. The sense of achievement is incredible.
My wishes for 2015 are to let go of the need to know how and instead just jumping in and giving it a go - learning while doing. I see that as definitely doable! My dream is to have a little art business - combining my hobby and my art to create my own niche. I've got a bit of learning and working to do before that can happen! I would love a portable business so I can travel and give up the day job. I know that won't happen in 2015, but hopefully I can get it all going this coming year. Who knows then what will happen in 2016?
So glad I stumbled upon your blog in my search for finding out what this mixed media is all about- and you're here in Australia too! Just about to settle down with your Paint Mojo ebook now...

Hi Tracy! I'll try to be brief (but that's not usually my strong suit! ;)
I moved 4 years ago and have struggled to find my balance and feel 'at home' in my new community.
At the beginning of this year I was invited by a new friend to join her and others in "Lifebook 2014". Before I knew what was happening - I instantly and enthusiastically said "Yes!"
My enthusiasm surprised even me especially since I did not have a clue what mixed media was, let alone what I was in for. I had not done any sort of art since I was a kid yet, I could not wipe the stupid grin off my face!
However, with every weekly lesson I learned a bit more but more importantly; the confidence level in myself and who I am, grew immensely and I literally started dreaming in color. Throughout the year have taken some more courses along the way and in short: I haven't looked back.
I am excited and hopeful to see what 2015 will bring and I am so happy to have found this creative outlet!!
I adore your art, thanks for reading this and have a fantastic 2015!
:)

Lovely reflections, thank you for sharing. In 2015 I plan to surround myself with photos and sayings that inspire and motivate me. Nothing odd about having a photo of Ms Grace Kelly on my nightstand right?

In 2015 I want to be well.
I want to live in the moment and set in motion all the we have been planning and building towards.
I want to strive to let my wife find her voice again and to see my daughters grow and explore their world.
I'm so glad to be able to see you and Marco becoming and being so happy in where you are. It's an inspiration.
Looking forward to seeing you and your adventures in 2015 and beyond. I'll be here having my own adventure - so look out!!!

Thank you for sharing your reflections on your year. You are an inspiration. For the coming year I'm hoping to get my mind, body and soul into better shape. And I'm starting with your Paint Mojo ecourse which I registered for in September and never found the time to do. I watched the first video this morning. Thank you.
