22 days of gratitude and giveaways! Days 10-12

Its Kyla here today, Tracy’s assistant,  having a turn at gratitude goddess, as Tracy is deeply immersed in her Paint Mojo retreat in Durfort, France.

As Tracy finds an abundance of inspiration and beauty on her travels through the streets of France with her students. I have been grateful for simple abundance, in my own backyard, literally...

Isn't it sometimes true, that you only realise how grateful you are for the life you lead, when you go away and come back. Let me explain.....

As a young lady that lives in a small coastal town, I sometimes seek new inspiration and a splash of a new culture/s. So I often take a trip to my nearest city, Sydney (Australia).
It always opens my romantic eyes and mind, in just the way they need to be opened and gives me time on the train commute to reflect on a hundred new idea's and inspirations, but what brightens me up most after the flash of city lights, is that I am heading home, back to my quiet life surrounded by nature.

I am grateful for the chance to experience the city's frills; the Modern Contemporary art gallery, seeing the quirky characters of all different backgrounds, dress sense, attitude and disposition. Eating something new, being a tourist and seeing with fresh eyes!

....................

But I am most grateful when i drive home from the train station over the little bridge, over the lake and take a right into my street; to my soul friend (my husband Adam) and to my grounding place; my lake shack home  ❤️❤️❤️

Not just the bliss of walking in the front door and taking off your shoes
(maybe your bra too!?)

But you can be just the 'you' you feel most comfortable to be, when you feel at home.

Our veggie garden is one part that makes home feel so abundant for me.....

Whether home to you; is when you are with a certain person, in your gypsy van on the open road , in your house or maybe home to you is a faraway place in your dreams...

Find a moment to be grateful for the feeling of belonging that 'home' brings you, i promise once you do... it will provide you with more magic and abundance than you could have even imagined!

Thanks for sharing in my gratitude x
                                                                   Kyla
                                                       (Kylastoneart.com )

Now to the other special part...... The giveaway of Three places in Paint Mojo, the e-course

A big smiley congratulations goes to:

Laura Grant

Shirley (Colorado)

Lura Brown

I cant wait to hear what is making your heart soar in content & gratitude.......

Kyla x

i love this post about home :) home is my favourite place i have autism and get quite anxious when i go out, even if i am enjoying myself whhen im out im always looking forward to the comfort and safety of my home afterwards :) my mom and my puppy makes our home a home :) also our local woods even though its not physically our home, if we have been out of town i love driving back through the forest and looking forward to our next walk amongst "our" favourite trees! I like how the trees dont move or change, apart from their lovely leaves each season, they are always there waiting for us to come home to them! :) x

Today I am grateful for music.
After a hectic (but fun-filled) family weekend I am clearing up the whole house whilst listening to some loud reggae music.
(Reggae is music from my youth - quite a time ago!)

Love reading your post Kyla! Home is a challenging topic for us right now and it is uplifting to see other perspectives. Today I am grateful for stumbling upon the action of "single-tasking." At a time when my great ability to multitask has turned into meaning putting out fires for everyone else, I am working on focusing. A book about single tasking just jumped in front of me at the book store. So I guess I am also grateful for messages from the universe!

I am terrifically content in the fact that my partner and I totally cleaned out our home of every single unnecessary item and donated it to our favorite charity. We are living with less, while someone else has what they need, and for that I am truly grateful. Simplicity and living with less is important to one's contentment. I am so grateful that we have transitioned to experiences rather than "stuff"!

Today I'm thankful for new begginings and life giving us a second chance. The end of last year and beggining of this one I fell badly into depression, was recovered in the hospital from a collapse and was in a bad marriage crisis. I slowly but surely pulled out of it by painting, trying to channel my feelings all bottled up inside out onto the canvas, and keeping an art journal. I realize that Doing this is really a therapy and heals more than we realize, but I am already doing a lot better and we are giving it a second try in our marriage. I have been hoping and praying to win a spot in your corse as you seem to know just how to help people release their inner feelings and imagination though art and that's a beautiful and wonderful thing. Thank you again for giving me this chance, even if I don't win a spot in happy for others who have the chance to make their life better by it. :)

We live in a small town and on these warmer summer nights, someone in the neighborhood has a wood fire. I love the smell!
So I'm grateful for the scent of woodsmoke at sundown. And grateful that my nose works!
There is no better word than home.

Gratitude today for the kindness of friends when I need it the most. They have been so sweet to me as my husband recovers from a major heat attack & surgery. Grateful too for the comfort & love of a good and faithful dog. My needs are simple: I just want everyone I love to be happy & healthy.

I enjoy your blog so much as it continues to open my eyes to all the beauty out there in the world that I have not seen. My husband and I are planning a cruise to Alaska next year for our 25th wedding anniversary. I'm grateful we will be able to share the adventure with one of my biological brothers and his wife - I was put up for adoption after birth but have since been reunited with my bio mother and her 4 sons. I'm grateful she chose to put me up for adoption and that we've all come full circle and know each other - her decision gave me a life I never would have had otherwise. Grateful for love, connections and life!

I am so grateful for that voice inside me that guides me back to my true self and feelings, it is my soul’s anchor. I have learned to be a better listener to it as I’ve gotten older and it has served me well. I try to create balance and harmony in everything I do, but if something is off or doesn’t feel right, I am thankful that I can go inward and get into a calm and peaceful place and listen to what my spirit is telling me. I am able to trust it completely and move forward in a way that keeps in line with my beliefs and my truths. Truly grateful....

I love your garden Kyla! I have a little garden too where I grow veggies, I love watching things grow, it's one of the beauties of life. Today I am also grateful for my collegue who lent me a listening ear jst when I needed it most. I've been going through some very difficult times and all my friends live around the globe so its not easy when you feel down and just need some encouragement and well, just someone who listens while you share your heart, without judgment, just wanting to be there to listen. It's an act of selflessness I appreciated so much and hope to be able to be an ancourgement to someone in their time of need as well. A little jest of kindness for one person can mean the world to others

Today I am grateful for perspective and noticing things that I wouldn't normally see. We were standing outside a cathedral and my son said "take a picture with me standing right here for perspective." He was a tiny little figure in the bottom of the picture next to this giant tower of the cathedral. Last time we visited this particular one I didn't notice the gargoyles, I was to Intrigued by the many different patterns. This time I saw them though and ignored the patterns. A shift in perspective I suppose.

I am grateful for this very hot day and my air-conditioning! That is working very hard!
Today, I am so grateful for new friends!!! I joined a postcard project, and was paired up with someone who lives in Great Britain, and we mail each other postcards based on writing prompts we receive each week for 3 weeks. It is helping me create in new ways that I never have before, and introducing me to someone new and wonderful!! :)

I really enjoyed your post about home it really resonates with me.
Today I am grateful that although I have been agonising about how to say something difficult to a new friend and carefully considered how best to do it, she recieved my words with a cheery "okay". It is such a relief.

Congrats to the winners today!!

Love your post about home... having lived many places I agree home isn't a place, it is a feeling.

Now what I am grateful, even though my mother has gone, I am so grateful for the awesome relationship we had and the memories I have of her and our lives together!

I LOVE your art--- I so love the freeedom and passion in all that you create - I so want to paint out of me the frustration of having lost part of me. I am seven months post concussion truama - and life has changed. need to mourn the aspects of me that have been lost. I have stepped back from my ceramic making and am clearing out lots in my life -- BUT I still so love colour.I have a passion for it - and freinds think of me as the rainbow lady! and so I would love a chance ofr a free place on you E course to find myself again - to find my inner rainmbow again... ... to be renewed through the joy of colour.

I am 64 yrs old and grateful for many things, but today I'm grateful to have discovered painting at the ripe age of 50. I'd never taken art in school, as I knew I'd flunk. Couldn't draw, at all. I became an OR nurse, but always had a passion for colour. So I took two different night school art classes in my late 40's and was told in no uncertain terms--'don't quit your day job!' as I had no talent. That nearly finished off any confidence/desire to create art, but I was desperate to learn to paint, yet quite unable to teach myself.I had zero faith in my artistic talent, coupled with a very loud and chatty inner voice of self-doubt which never failed to reinforce my many shortcomings. Then I met Anita--an incredible woman-an artist, who somehow coaxed out my inner artist and encouraged me to come alive with my paintbrush. She refused to give up on me, encouraged me and after one year I was able to fly solo, putting to canvas all the colours I had bottled up inside me. Very exciting stuff for a gal who lived her life in pastels.
Since then, I have been incredibly blessed to have taken classes from some very fun and talented women since-the most recent being Tracy, down in Palm Desert. And talk about blessings...my first day of 'Painting Mojo' class, I got a call from my houseguests (who'd planned to return to Canada the day before, but then extended their visit an extra 2 days) that my husband was having a stroke and being taken to the hospital. Well, good morning to you, too! Poor Tracy-this wild eyed, panic stricken stranger (me), flinging my brushes at my table & running out of class, beating the ambulance to the ER...long story short, our houseguests diagnosed Jim's 'episode' off the internet (!!!), gave him an aspirin, called 911 and probably saved his life. At the very least, saved him from a stroke. He is fine now, (taking meds to reduce his BP and his Cholesterol until he is able to do so himself.)He's better than fine, really--cleaned up his bad habits, lost 20 lbs (the bugger!!) and we are both more than grateful for this turn of events. So, all in all, I have a great deal to be thankful for.

Hi Tracy!! Today I am grateful for the strength that vulnerability provides us when we are brave enough to be vulnerable. I feel it is important that we share our experiences with other people and offer ourselves in openness and honesty. Speaking our story will heal us and it may even heal somebody else. Telling your story frees you from carrying that pain or secret and can give other people permission to acknowledge their own story and stand in their truth as well. Sharing vulnerability connects us to each other, and for this, I am grateful.

On 15 July 2015 I am grateful for friends! I have in the last few years reconnected with a group of friends from college days (1980!) We have married raised our families and reconnect once a year in person for the last 4 years! None of us had been in touch for the intervening 30+ years. What a beautiful blessing these new/old friends are in my life!!

Hi Tracy-I have to tell you I am liking this everyday feeling grateful and saying it out loud! I think I am going to start a journal and write in it every day about what I am grateful for! So today I am grateful for your birthday and your idea, which gave me my idea! Also I am grateful that my youngest daughter is healthy and was able to enjoy her birthday today! I was and am SO GRATEFUL for her, she is so special to us!
I am grateful that my legs still allow me to stand on them in the morning and walk on them through most of home day. I have multiple sclerosis - but I am fortunate that my legs are still "with me"! Here's to being grateful for legs!
