I don't have actual sibling sisters but I DO have art sisters. They mean the world to me. They have my back, they teach me, they support me, they accept me, love me and cheer me on. They have held me up when I felt like I couldn't go on. That's just part of what a sisterhood does for you!

Sisterhood is being a part of a group of women who share a common set of values. I am lucky to have had many of these over the years. I count my art buddies as my sisterhood these days - they totally get me!

I have three beautiful sisters and they mean the absolute world to me... we have been through so much together and experienced so much ... love, loss, pain, joy, disappointment, heartache ... but through it all we have stuck together, faced it together, learnt from each other and supported each other the best way we knew how at the time... I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. Thank you for this chance to win a spot in this beautiful class xo

I am the middle of 3 sisters which means growing up I was both a big sister and a little sister. How divine! Sadly my younger sister pass a few years ago from colon cancer. I can honestly say I don't know how I would have survived without my big sister and all my sister-friends. Sisterhood is being there in good times and bad. It's holding space for each other. Hugs! Thanks for the opportunity to win a spot in the course!

Ii define sisterhood as a connection that makes you feel understood and accepted for all that you are and all that you aren't. For the way that connection makes you feel loved and brave and empowered to be completely bare and naked and exposed with your soul wide open to receive the gifts
that you deserve. How's that sistah!

I have 3 sisters and I am the oldest. I don't see them as often as I want to. I guess their lives are very busy and they are not as sentimental as I am. I haven't seen my one sister in almost two year and it breaks my heart. She always makes excuses if I want to organise a visit. I guess we are just too different and have grown appart. On the other hand I have my best friend that lives in the same town. She is like my sister. We do almost everything together....even had a shop together at one stage. I guess sisterhood does not have to be real siblings but a person who is there for you, no matter what. veronikasolivier@gmail.com

Sisterhood is the women that we embrace as our “sisters” are sometimes closer than our own family members. They defend us, wipe away our tears, take care of us when we are ill, encourage us in the bad times, lend us money if needed, and support our dreams. And at the very same time these same women will not hesitate to scold us, push us, even anger us in order to protect us.

True sisterhood cannot be forced. It has to be developed with interest, patience, reciprocity and over time. Not every woman will be your best friend, nor should she be invited to be in your inner circle, but every woman is deserving of your respect and support when you are able to provide it. Sisterhood is not a trite word we throw around. Being your sister’s keeper should be a reflex. It should be based on how you would want to be treated if you were walking in her shoes. Sisterhood knows no boundary, no race, no class or geography. Sisterhood transcends and it transforms us for the better. Sisterhood is from the heart.

Sounds like a lovely class to be a part of indeed....

Warmly, Karla

Sisterhood to me is when women get together and have that instant bond of shared experiences that surpasses age. A perfect example is the upcoming Woman's Marches in cities across the US. The online arts community is another great example of women giving each other encouragement and kindness! Thanks for this give away kristenvarian@gmail.com

Hi Tracy and thank you for this possibility!! For me sisterhood means the connection that I dream between all women, and that for me exist with my sister friends all over the world. It's something special for all of us. I live in a very lucky country,Italy, where women are important but my soul is very unhappy when I think about those places where women are not considered, crushed and violated. So for me sisterhood it means also this, think about them and trying to become stronger for them too.

This class looks SOOOO awesome!! Sisterhood is a fantastic topic for a class. Sisterhood means so much to me. It means having someone to get my back, to listen when I have something to say, to be there for me whenever I need them! What would we do without our sisters in art?! They hold us up when we are down and celebrate when we accomplish a goal!

I've always had amazing friends around me luckily, because I don't have real sisters. But thanks to my amazing friends, I do know the lovely and warm feeling of sisterhood!!
Looking forward to this course as well!

Sisterhood, at the moment, means to me gathering in Washington DC for the US government to hear the voices of Women, who have become marginalized by the election and advisor picks of Big Orange. Sisterhood is a unison chant to be heard and reckoned with. I will be a part of that chant!

I love the idea of this course SO MUCH! I studied painting as a kid but left it behind for music and writing as I got older. I'd love to go back and dive into that aspect of my life again, and this course sounds like it is the perfect synergy of art, writing, community, and joy. It would be such a gift to share sisterhood with so many kindred souls.

Sisterhood is not only the sisters of blood but everywhere. Women need to learn to stand in unity not against each other. We need to have each other's backs and help each other rise up and be our best selves.
