Day 8 of my nine day giveaway!! Celebrating Big Magic!

Yikes you guys!! I still have two posts to write and the winners are to be drawn tomorrow!!
( Jan 11th 8.00pm PST)
Looks like I'll have to keep these last two short and sweet

In 2015 a lot of incredible, fantastical things happened in my world!

one of the most incredible was that........
The super awesome, talented and inspirational writer, and all round creative cheerleader Elizabeth Gilbert kind of adopted me as the patron artist of her FB page

Then credited MY book!! with teaching her to paint!

"Today's spotting of Big Magic comes from the wonderful artist, traveler and art teacher Tracy Verdugo whose book Paint Mojo taught me how to paint! " "

She then sent me an advance copy of her new book Big Magic which I read start to finish several times as we traipsed across the world, scribbling and earmarking so many words of wisdom that resonated completely for me in my own creative process and my workshop teachings.
If you haven't yet read Big Magic yet, its a must for every creative being, which is.... ahem.... everyone!

Throughout the year Liz featured many of my works....

"Another beautiful painting (and statement of power!) from our friend Tracy Verdugo, who always brings such brightness to this page...just lovely.
Thanks, Tracy!
ONWARD,
LG "

and I am truly grateful for her willingness to support, not only me but so many other creative friends with such grace and generosity.....

"MAGIC EVERYWHERE!
Dear Ones -
I want to thank you for the incredibly enthusiastic response to my announcement yesterday about my new book, BIG MAGIC!
(And for those of you who somehow missed my flurry of excitement about the book, here's a link, explaining all: http://etsy.me/1Iqw59y)
Then this happened: A dear friend of this page, an artist named Tracy Verdugo, shared this painting of hers...which just seems to fit the magic and exhuberance of the mood perfectly.
Plus: ELEPHANTS!
I hope you all have a beautiful day — with magnificence in bloom everywhere you look.
And seriously: Thank you all for seeing me, and for letting yourselves be seen.
I love you guys so freaking much, it's stupid.
ONWARD
LG

more loveliness to be found here: http://tracyverdugo.com "
The post below made me do internal cartwheels for weeks!!
I mean seriously!!!

"I feel like lately Tracy Verdugo has become the patron artist of this Facebook page. I just love everything she makes...
By the way, she's teaching an e-course in painting soon, if anyone wants to sign up!
I'm thinking of taking the course myself — both because it could be fun, and because I think it might help me with my writing. Einstein believed in something called "Combinatory Play" — the idea that, by expressing creativity in one realm, you could get inspiration for another. This is why, whenever he was blocked, he would spend some time with his violin. By playing music, some channel opened up in his mind, and he could solve whatever mathematical problem had been dogging him.
Whatever it takes to get the inspiration flowing, get it flowing, my friends!
All love,
LG "

and this one, well, my heart expanded a little more as I fell into the blissful interconnectedness of it all and the awesomeness of being able to be a small part of what I believe is a necessary and beautiful creative r/evolution on the planet.
and guess what?

you are all part of it too

and I believe in YOU

"Dear Ones -
Our sweet friend Tracy Verdugo (one of this page's most beloved artists-in-residence) sent me this image recently, and I felt the urge to pass it along to you all this morning.
Because I believe in you guys, big time.
In turn, why don't you each pass this image along to someone you believe in today? It's such a lovely piece of grace to let somebody know that you have faith in them, and that you're thinking of them.
Happy Sunday, everyone...and so much love!
ONWARD,
LG

ps - check out www.tracyverdugo.com...she's the bomb. "

Please check in with Liz' facebook page Its a daily truth, wisdom and inspiration pit stop for me :)

love to you all on this beautiful day!

Todays prize is this 7x8" original painting on paper!

such a sweet pic of you reading the big magic. I ordered the book end of last year and am reading it in bits and pieces. Its such a revelation at times. All the conditioning that one goes through explained so well. And gently unfolding to change that. Well written.

Isn't it great when people who are geographically far apart appear to be so close after all? It's great to know there are many kindred spirits to connect with ☺

I'm reading Big Magic now. I was going to sign it out of our local library, but after reading a few pages, I knew that I was going to be underlining, highlighting, re-reading......and that isn't appreciated by the library! So I bought my own copy. It lives beside my bed. Perfect reading for the last thing at night or the first thing in the morning.

How wonderful to have a peer as such a huge cheerleader for you and advocate of your work! So happy for you x
I have been collecting words of wisdom, quotes and passages that resonated with me since I was 15 yo and recording them in a hard cover book that I refer to when times are troubled or I need extra focus or encouragement. I too travel with this. It is part of my life journey. My journals and sketchbooks are also peppered with quotes and inspirational comments. I look forward to checking out Big Magic. Thank you x

Tracy,
You lift my spirits everyday ~ not only with your art but also your words! <3
My very favorite sentence of Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear is "Create whatever causes a revolution in your heart."

Gilbert, Elizabeth (2015-09-22). Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear (p. 101). Penguin Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.

My very favorite sentence of Paint Mojo is "What would the world look like if we stopped worrying about what we are suppose to do, stopped thinking about appearances and allowed ourselves to experience moments of play, silliness and abandonment?"

Verdugo, Tracy (2015). Paint Mojo, A Mixed Media Workshop (p. 42). North Light Books.

I have learned so much from two people - imagine how much we can learn from each other!
Peace,
~Leslie

The oddest synchronistic thing is that today I grabbed your book,
Paint Mojo, & headed south to one of my favorite cafes to order one of my favorite salads for lunch. Before my order came & while I was crunching away on a healthy salad, I was studying Paint Mojo again. It was like the first time--so rich with wonderful inspiration. Thank you, Tracy Verdugo! I'm going to do one of the activities tonight.
Your art is amazing! I am still adjusting to the process. If retirement would get here I could devote more time. Until then, I will take time when I can! Love!

You two.... My favorite writer and artist commingling together. Big Magic and Paint Mojo have me such inspiration in 2015! Can't wait to see what happens in 2016!!! ~Hobby
