22 days of gratitude and giveaways- day four and five

Bonjour mes amis!
Just a small post today as it is the weekend
and I am in France with mi amor after all
for the first time....
plus I actually wrote this whole blog last night and
POOF!! It vanished...just like that!
Oh well, what can we do??
I want you to know that I am writing this post with a French accent in my head
so you must read it that way too d'accord? :)

Grateful for
these little heart rocks collected in Wales. The beaches there have the most I've ever seen!

THIS view from the window of our budget hotel the first night here~ the beautiful Chateau de Carcassonne!!

THIS view from our VERY BUDGET "chalet" our last night in Wales...we actually worried it might fall down the hill from the obvious termite damage AND its the first place we've ever stayed where the shower head was missing! But the views...oh my!!

THIS perfect vista through an ancient window at the ruins of Tintagel Castle in Devon to the wild waters outside Merlin's Cave. Some serious magic there!

INSPIRATION from our travels to work in new ways, smaller by necessity, with different tools. This piece is the from an upcoming tutorial in my regular Cloth Paper Scissors column :)

AND MOSTLY GRATEFUL FOR the technology ( that works most of the time!) to be in contact with these two gorgeous girls whenever we like!

SOOOOOOOOO excited for all of us (including Santanas lovely amor Jacob) to be together for my birthday in San Sebastian Spain for a couple of weeks :)))))))

TWO LUCKY WINNERS TODAY ARE.........
SHINJINI
and ROBIN WEST!!!

 Congratulations to you both!!
You are now enrolled in the next session of Paint Mojo the ecourse. Class starts Sept 1st and you can read all about it here!

I am loving your beautiful gratitude comments so much!!

I know they are causing ripples of joy in my own life and I imagine they are for others reading too!
Keep on posting! 17 more lucky winners to come!
I'll be taking the rest of the day off to enjoy the beach and warm weather here in Barcares
but will post another double winner post tomorrow ( Monday around 7pm local time South of France)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and Happy 4th July to all of my friends in the US!!

a bientot
lots of love Tracy xoxox

She went from a skinny ilttle sack of bones to a beautiful purring cat, lying here next to me as I type this. She. Has brrought me a lot of joy, love and laughter and I hope she will continue to do so for a long time
Just now I am really grateful that we have clean cool water coming right out of our faucet - if I imagine having to haul it from somewhere and not being sure that I am carrying death right into my household!

Today I am grateful for having a little time for painting in my tiny garden shed :)

Have a lovely time in France!
Hi Tracy,
I live some 15kms from Carcassonne.
I can recommend kite surfing for 'mi amor' in La Franqui, a seaside resort south of Narbonne, about 90 kms away from Carcassonne.
See itinary below, in English if you please...:
http://en.mappy.com/itineraire/Carcassonne%2011000%20(France)/La%20Franqui%2C%2011370%20Leucate%20(France)?opt.vehicle=midcar&opt.cost=time&opt.notoll=0&opt.infotraffic=0&opt.gascost=1.355&opt.gas=petrol&opt.compensation=0&routeidx=0&start.x=2.355906&start.y=43.212594&end.x=3.038948&end.y=42.930836
I cannot recommend a place to stay but there are plenty around there.
Only snag, I should think it's quite busy at this time of year, but the wind is great
Love to you both

Bonjour, Tracy! So happy to see your journey unfold in front of our eyes. It is with great desire that one day I will be traveling those roads! I am grateful that our ceiling didn't fall down on us over night...literally! The combination of horrible storms and termite eaten wood has caused cracks and holes to sprout up in the last few days. Hopefully, our super landlord will get it all fixed up for us soon. For now, I am grateful we have a roof over our heads!

As I lay in my boyfriend Andy's huge, king size bed last night (with very little space by the way because his six foot son, our new kitten, and my dog were all piled in with Andy and I, watching a Will Smith movie) I thought to myself "how did I get here, in such a cozy mess of friends?" I have spent so much of my life learning the nuances of loneliness and isolation. In that moment I was flooded with gratitude for this new life, not always perfect, not always what I expected, but filled with so much love and good company.

Grateful for technology and sharing in the beautiful things my friends post: unexpected flowers by the river, a mother's joy at something her son said, an eighties themed wedding, a call to action.

Also grateful for the breeze today, working in the potted garden last night and the amazing sunsets we're having. For this call to action created by Tracy - to post daily gratitude, wonderful!

On my way to see friends for brunch who I haven't seen in a while. So many things to be grateful for my heart is full - grateful for that too, lol.

I was reading your Paint Mojo book (for about the fourth time) last night and I was on the page where you said you would spend your 50th birthday in Europe - well there you are! I am grateful for being insoired by you to follow my dreams at the age of 45. I have spent the weekend at the lake with the beautiful woods as a backdrop and have been art journalling about my future hopes and dreams. I am so grateful to be physically able to move my body and mentally able to learn something new every day. I was visiting with my father-in-law, who has Alzheimer's disease, and seeing him, with his memory slowly leaving him, has inspired me even more to use my abilities as best I can in this life. Today I am grateful for the firefighters & first responders who are putting their lives on the line while our beautiful province burns. One tree feller lost their life today. I am thinking of his family. There is a fire that I can see from my home & the air is terribly smoky, but we are okay.

I am enjoying sharing your wonder in travel Tracy :) . Today I am grateful that we have the ability to travel and experience first hand other cultures in their worlds. I enriches us all and is perhaps a step towards greater understanding and tolarance.

I am grateful that nobody noticed my fly was undone when I was shopping today. I am also grateful that if they did notice I am able to laugh it off. Life is too short to be perfect! Being able to laugh at myself is one thing I thank the gods for. I am sure they get a kick out of me too.

I am grateful for the lovely walk I had this morning with Chloe and MableAble, our two black labs. The dew soaked through my shoes, the birds were squabbling in the trees and the sun was shining.

I am grateful for the many beautiful connections I made this year that help to expand my soul.

Do I need to pick one thing to be grateful for? As soon as I start thinking about gratitude I just get loads of thoughts flooding my head (lucky me hehe). So amongst other things I am grateful for:
-online (art) courses - I have learned so much these past years!
-online communities - I've made amazing connections, some of whom I've met in real life as well and they are friends for life
-my beautiful children who teach me about being yourself no matter what other people think and being in the moment
-art journaling - it is my home, my saviour, my connection to my self

Wow Tracy your photographs are incredible! Your talent has taken you to many beautiful places. I love the heart shaped rocks too. I'm hoping to take your ecourse for Painting Mojo. I learned so much from Animalitos. I've had some heal problems and spending lots of money on medical testing. I haven't had much energy to paint but hopefully by the time the course starts I'll have answers and will be feeling better. Your style of painting has been such an eye opener for me. I really am looking forward to September.

Right this moment I'm grateful for the love and support of my husband and of the "tribe" of women I have met through my art e-courses. It's amazing how women can encourage one another through sharing their art, their lives and their love.

I am eternally grateful that my 88 year old Mom in Law is recovering in hospital after her Dr found a malignant tumor in her colon. He operated right away and it went incredibly well. No chemo required. Thank goodness. She is one if my best friends and I love her to the moon and back. We see each other 2 - 3 tines a week when I am at home in Cape Town.

Having something to look forward to is so wonderful when you're having a bad day and today I am sooo grateful that I can look forward to a trip to Anglesey this weekend. It is my favourite place, so magical and wild. I really hope you felt that too when you visited.

I am so grateful that I am cancer free for 6 years this month and feel wonderful. My life has changed from the day I was diagnosed with breast cancer because I began to paint and have continued every day since. I find solace and healing powers through art and also living with different eyes to see all the inspirational things around me that were right in front of me all the time but didn't' realize how truly beautiful they actually were.
