Today I am thankful because you are giving me this chance to win a spot in yor course. When I first saw your paintings, the expression and the beauty and your use of colors I thought "I wish I could paint like that". See ive always been a perfectionist, I started off as a mural artist, and painting trompe l'oeil which you need to be very exact, so that kind of hinders me to just trust the mess and let it flow. I realized when I got your book that you really help people do just that and I was so pulled by your art. It looks so spontaneous and full of life! I come from a big family of 8 kids where my mom and dad did full time missionary work all during the years I grew up, most of us were born in SEA and so money was never really available for art supplies but I learned where I could and used what I found and always tried to make the best of the situation. When I was 17 and wanted to go to art university as soon as high school was done my dad and mom split up and so especially with all the kids to look after the last thing we could do was university, I just starte working instead to help my mom out. In these last years now that I'm a woman, I really feel like soaking up and learning everything I can, I can't afford your class but I am so grateful for this opportunity and you generosity in giving me and others this wonderful chance. Thank you!

Today I am thankful for miracles.. Because without miracles we might still be lost on the mountain.. Yesterday was our last day here in Austria, we hiked up to a mountain hut then were going to walk along the peak path to the cable cars, but somewhere along the way we got lost and ended up on another path going into the mountain, which was all of the sudden a cliff with a straight drop down on one side, what all we could do was go forward. I was so scared the whole time crossing the tiny little path all along the mountain where one step wrong would make you fall into nothing. I don't know how we did it but we got across, only to realize we were completely and Utterly lost and there was no one about? Just us and the mountains, and it was already 5 pm...all I could do was pray that a miracle would happen. As soon as I did I saw a car driving on the path out of nowhere with a guy inside saying "hey you guys lost?" And he brought us to the nearest town and called us a taxi to take us back to the town we were staying. I'm convinced he was an angel, he came out of nowhere and just when we thought we'd be stuck in the mountain alone all night... I am grateful to be here back safe.

People are being evacuated from their homes. Now, hopefully the rain will stay for a few days, and those people affected will be able to go home. The news has shown pictures of our deer,bears also being affected. Thank you.

Today I am grateful that my dad had a successful procedure to repair his broken hip. At his age, falls can be super serious, but he's in good spirits and coming through marvelously. I can't think of anything I am more grateful for than that.
