Day 27~30 days of blog lovin'~ the miracle of music ♥

Hello sweet friends! Yesterday I talked a little about how music is a big part of our lives and although we aren't playing too much these days with all of the other excitement we have going on, the power and capacity of music to make miracles is always something that is deeply moving to me.  With only three days left of my daily blogging commitment I leave you today with three videos that are a testament to the healing power of song, the capacity for communion between humans and other species with music as the love link and the sheer joy that a song memory can bring! Next time you're feeling not so on top of the world, find a song that lifts you and play it loud! If it makes you wanna dance all the better!  My favourite "feelgood song" is  "Praise you" by Fatboy Slim and it never fails to change my mood in the best way! ok I'm adding that video in at the bottom too and I want you all to dance the dorkiest dance you can while listen...

Day 2~ Thirty days of blog lovin' ♥

Morning lovelies!! I'm getting my daily post in early today as I have hired my beautiful Santana to photograph the projects for Chapters 1-3 of my book as the deadline for those early chapters is fast approaching. So before I head out to my studio I thought I would share a new discovery with you. Making collages on Picasa!! If you're anything like me you like your techy things to be user friendly and easy to learn and this ticks both of those boxes :) One of the things I love to do at my workshops AND in my own art is to photograph little cropped pieces of works in progress. This is such a helpful exercise in learning to recognise what makes for interesting composition AND these small images can be filed away and used for inspiration as starting points for more paintings! This little collage is made up of small cropped works of students paintings from some of my Paint Mojo workshops this year. There are a couple of mine in there too. Can you guess ...

in my world lately.....♥

Good morning beautiful friends, family and fellow creatives!   The weather continues to be gorgeous here in our little paradise and even though Winter is on its way we are still in Summer clothes :)    Beautiful elephants continue to appear in my paintings! You can read about the inspiration behind these paintings here  AND I experienced a complete paradigm shift when 4 of them sold in one weekend..... on FACEBOOK! Who would have thunk it!!  I especially loved this little poppet who flew off to live in the U.S ♥   and THEN out of this demo painting, started at a workshop.... Tracy Verdugo. 2013. The Elephant and the Butterfly:A Change Whose Time has Come. acrylic/mixed media on canvas. 76x76cm (30x30"). $1600 appeared this powerful beauty... now this one may be hard to part with and prints will definitely be coming soon!  I've been LOVING Misty Mawn's Face to Face onli...

evolution of an elephant :)

Elephant Love I've had elephants on my mind for some time now. Such beautiful creatures they are.... mysterious and wise, capable of great joy, rage and sadness..... just like us Last January in Koh Samui we were excited to be able to go on a jungle trek with two beautiful female elephants.... I'm taking the photos from my perch and thats Sienna taking a photo back of me. I worried about how heavy we were and the mud below that swallowed up their giant feet and made the going tough at times.... I was kind of glad to get back, dismount and happy to give thanks with tiny bananas....   a gentle touch and soft words of love and gratitude Santana had a moment of communion too as did Marco and Sienna.... a year has passed and I find myself drawn to painting these beauties... this little one appeared first as part of my Little Creatures series, and was quickly scooped up and taken to its new home......   an...
