Day 2~ Thirty days of blog lovin' ♥

Morning lovelies!!

I'm getting my daily post in early today as I have hired my beautiful Santana to photograph the projects for Chapters 1-3 of my book as the deadline for those early chapters is fast approaching.

So before I head out to my studio I thought I would share a new discovery with you.

Making collages on Picasa!!

If you're anything like me you like your techy things to be user friendly and easy to learn
and this ticks both of those boxes :)

One of the things I love to do at my workshops AND in my own art is to photograph little cropped pieces of works in progress.
This is such a helpful exercise in learning to recognise what makes for interesting composition AND these small images can be filed away and used for inspiration as starting points for more paintings!

This little collage is made up of small cropped works of students paintings from some of my Paint Mojo workshops this year. There are a couple of mine in there too. Can you guess which?

If you don't have Picasa you can download it for free. It is the main program I use when photographing and editing my paintings for my website and to have prints made up.

I am sure you can do lots more with it too as I discovered when I used it to make two banner for my Sacred Marks Bali retreat in 2014.

So all you have to do is go to Picasa and follow the prompts to upload folders of your images.
Down in the bottom left corner, below the blue line, you'll see a little green thumbtack. Click on this to take any of your images down to the holding tray. When you have all the images you want to use you can add them to their own album by clicking on the little folder icon below the thumbtack.
After this all you have to do is click on create up in the taskbar, then picture collage which will put all of your selected photos together.

You can also play with you settings to shuffle your pics

delete pics you don't want

and play with the format, background colour and even the spacing between grids.

How cool is that!

Will leave you with one last collage of my recent elephant pics. I'm working on a project to develop this series further and donate a portion of all ellie paintings and prints to help stop the decimation of these majestic animals by the illegal ivory trade.

We need their ancient wisdom more than ever ♥

Until tomorrow my sweet friends
lots of love
Tracy ♥

Wonderful how completely everything in wild nature fits into us, as if truly part and parent of us.  The sun shines not on us, but in us.  The rivers flow not past, but through us, thrilling, tingling, vibrating every fiber and cell of the substance of our bodies, making them glide and sing.  ~John Muir
